The holiday season is one full of excitement for families everywhere. They are all looking to have a great time with loved ones and enjoying everything that the season has to offer. One way that people celebrate is by having Christmas Parties. These are sort of like Halloween parties in that they are an intimate but open way to celebrate the season with loved ones, friends and neighbors. However if you want to add pop you should choose an eye-catching decorating theme for your party. Some great examples are Winter Wonderland, Babes in Toyland, or Santa’s Workshop. In each of these cases you can find interesting decorations to match each theme that will be eye-catching. At the same time you don’t want to spend your holiday budget all over again. Do some bargain hunting to find the need party decorations at a reasonable price. The result should be stunning to your guests as they enter your home.
Any party worth its salt will have great music for ambience and atmosphere. Try playing a mixture of holiday classics and new Christmas songs that have been released recently. A great idea is to ask everyone their top favorite songs and use these to build a playlist. If you want to save even more on your party expenses be your own DJ or have family member be one. This will be especially easy with the aid of your computer or MP3. Just make sure that you have your playlist ready and you have your player or computer connected to a good sound system.
You can also have some party games. You can play holiday games such as secret Santa and even play some common party games. A new innovation is to play video games. Game consoles like the Wii have a line of party games that will be sure to be a hit at your party. In the end just use your imaginations to come up with some great entertainment everyone can enjoy and have fun with.
Food is always a must at a party. For your Christmas party you will need to offer both light snacks and a light meal. Something delicious but not too heavy that will make your guests sleepy. You also want to keep in tune with the holiday theme. Include some small portions of popular holiday treats such as pigs in a blanket and gingerbread. You can also go to your local Sam’s Club and get some pretty good Hors d’oeuvres for a reasonable price. You can also give guests other cookie and treats as edible favors so they can bring a taste of your party home with them.
Something you can do for your children is to have them get a personalized letter from Santa Clause. You can order and customize the letter online at a very affordable price. The letters are designed to look as official as possible with a special North Pole postmark.

This Christmas many parents are looking for unique ways to make the holidays special for their children. One way is to have their kids get funny or wacky Christmas gifts. This is a way to make the kids laugh and enjoy their Christmas even more. The magic of the holidays is the anticipation of getting presents and never quite knowing what you are going to get. For the practical joker at heart you can give presents that will be sure to tickle their funny bone and give them something fun to use on friends at the first opportunity. This is while not on the same beaten path as more traditional gifts still represents the joy of the Christmas season. Here are some great ideas that you can take advantage of for your funny Christmas presents.
Gag gifts are inexpensive and funny presents that are meant to get a reaction out of the recipient. They can come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. For example it might be cute and funny like a light up Rudolph reindeer nose. Or it can be gross out humor like a holiday sheep pooping out chocolate candy. The important thing is to make your kids laugh or say “Ewww!” This can be a delicate balance. The best thing to do is think of how your child would react if they received a lump of coal and make it funny. They are also great gifts to mix in for gift grab present games.
Another idea is practical joke gifts. These are presents for the jokester in your family or a present that is a joke you can spring on the suspecting receiver. For the person that likes sweets a bit too much you can give a shocking sweet jar filled with their favorite candy. This will make them want to open it only to receive a “shocking” surprise. This is definitely a funny way to start Christmas Day. When you are picking out these gifts you want them to be funny but not too mean. That is the important balance you have to strike when giving practical joke Christmas gifts. If you do so, you will have picked funny and surprising gift.
When picking humorous gifts another way to go is with hilarious stocking stuffers. They are pretty much similar to gag gifts and practical joke gifts, except that they are small items that can be put in your family’s stockings. You can put interesting candies such as sour flush candy which a candy plunger with toilet shaped container with sour candy powder. Using funny and at times even gross stocking stuffers is a great way to spice up presents this Christmas.
You can also give simple humorous holiday gifts as well. It can be something as simple as a dancing Santa or an interactive Frost the Snowman. These are one many interesting holiday gifts that will not only enthuse your children, but also bring a smile to their faces.
Something that you can do is to have your kids receive a letter from Santa. Every year children write letters to Santa but never get a reply back. So why not make this Christmas special for your kids by having them actually get one. You can order a letter online and customize it with your child’s accomplishments and what they wanted for Christmas. The best part is how they make the letters authentic. They each come with special North Pole postmark

It seems that each Christmas season has a new set of top toys for Christmas. Adults spend hours searching retail stores looking for that special toy in time for the season. No one wants to disappoint a child, especially when it is Christmas. How can you find those top toys so that you can have them under your Christmas tree?
Start shopping early if you want to find those top toys for Christmas. As the holidays get closer, you will have a tougher time finding those toys. If you wait until Black Friday, your local stores may have already sold out of the toy.
For the girl on your shopping list, your list of top toys for Christmas is easy to select from considering that dolls and doll accessories remain high on the list. With the holiday season, Barbie is alway a great choice along with the Barbie Jammin’ Jeep for the lucky little girl who loves to ride around the back yard. Hannah Montana and her musical entourage make for great playtime. A really hot item is the animated pet. Zhu Zhu hamster pets are flying off the shelf as are the FurReal pets.
Top toys for Christmas always include action toys that captures the imagination of the boy on your list. With so many to choose from, two sure winners are the Bakugan 7 in 1 Maxus Dragonoid collection that is based on the popular TV anime series. Along with Bakugan, you’ll find Transformer also topping the list. Video gamers will be glad to know that PS3 and Will have various bundles available that are significantly lower in price than last year. Younger boys enjoy ride on toys such as Radio Flyer wagons.
To ensure that you can grab the top toys for Christmas for your kids, check at the discount stores online shops. Many of the nationwide chain discount stores have their own websites that can be useful in finding the most popular toys. If they have the toy in stock, they will often ship to your local store with no shipping charges. The best for this is Amazon, they may have stocked up on the toys throughout the year in anticipation of a toy being the season’s top seller.
If all else fails, check at online auction sites for top toys for Christmas. There are people that buy the top toys early and are willing to sell them at a profit. Be warned, that you may pay two to three times the amount for the toy as you would pay in a retail store. However, if you must have this toy for your child’s Christmas to be complete, you may want to pay the extra price.
If you absolutely cannot find the top toys for Christmas, you can either start using your best psychology to convince the child that it is not the toy he or she wants or simply tell your child it may not be possible. Believe or not, children can handle disappointment, sometimes better than adults.
Looking for hot Christmas toys ? How about the Mindflex Game from Mattel.

However taking time to read a good Christmas Story or The Christmas story is a great tradition to start. Pick a holiday favorite and get started. Volunteer with your kids. If you take the time to do a service event with your kids, it will help them to get into the true spirit of the season and see the importance of giving to those in need. Your kids will feel more part of the town and will just have a good time seeing the various performances. If they can participate with their school or afterschool group then encourage them to do so. Christmas is rapidly approaching and many of us will be starting to think about what gifts to buy this year. It’s always a good idea to buy early for Christmas - and that’s especially true this year.
Last year many retailers over stocked. They then had to offer heavy discounts in order to clear the shelves. Coupled with the fact that the economic climate is, whilst improving, still somewhat less than rosy, it’s not hard to see why a lot of retailers have opted for relatively low stock levels this year.
However, as we get nearer to Christmas, it might be difficult to get hold of toys and other popular gift items. Toys could be especially hard to find. The trouble is that most toys are made in Asia nowadays - so even if retailers try to replenish their empty shelves by placing more orders, the delivery time may mean that the new stock does not arrive in time for Christmas.
One of the best selling toys so far this year is Zhu Zhu Pets. These are a collection of five robotic hamsters, complete with an array of toys and accessories, which incorporate artificial intelligence. This allows them to interact both with the children playing with them and their surroundings. Zhu Zhu pets were only released in August of 2009 - and kids are going crazy for them. Assuming stock levels hold up, they look set to be this year’s top selling Xmas toy.
They are already becoming difficult to find - and prices are rising rapidly. You can now find third party vendors on both Amazon and eBay selling them for considerably more than the recommended retail price.
However, if you can’t get hold of the latest fad toy, or if you don’t want to pay inflated prices for a fad that could easily die out in just a few months, then you might wish to consider a more traditional toy instead. Whilst these may not be the very latest and greatest craze - the simple fact that they have stood the test of time says a lot.
For example, if you were buying for a young boy, a son or nephew perhaps, a train set is always a popular choice. A good Hornby Dublo train set will last for years and will still be giving children enjoyment when the latest fad has fizzled out and been replaced by something newer.
You could just as easily apply the same reasoning to perennial favourites like Lego, Monopoly and Scrabble. All of these have been around for years and have adapted to meet the demands of today’s children.
See the full range of Hornby Dublo train sets - including the famous Hornby oo Flying Scotsman.
